2009  Pro Ag Annual Tour
Highlighting Renville County

ProAg of Renville County's annual agribusiness tour is Tuesday, August 25
56-passenger bus loading at Max's Grill, Olivia, at 1 p.m.

 

This year's tour agenda starts with a visit to Mycogen Seeds, Olivia for an update on trait technologies of the corn industry plus a report on this year 's seed production in Renville County. 

Next stop is Bird Island Soil Services and their North American Fertilizer operation plus their Ag Venture seed program..

 

The tour then travels to Loftness Manufacturing, Hector, for a walk-through viewing of their factory assembly line and showing of the new Loftness bulk grain storage and grain unloading system, which is creating huge interest with corn producers across the nation.

 

Fourth stop is Schweiss Bi-Fold Doors factory and the Schweiss Equestrian Stable facility. Schweiss is the acknowledge world leader of bi-fold doors and hydraulic doors marketing in every state plus several foreign countries. The equestrian facility is one of the newest and finest in America.

 

The bus then travels to Fieldstone Winery, rural Morgan, for wine tasting and a special catered dinner by Morgan's Catering.  Of Minnesota's 27 wineries, Fieldstone has the unique distinction of using only Minnesota grown grapes.

 

"We feel this tour is a prime example of the primary mission of ProAg of Renville County.  That mission is to promote, inform, and educate others about the diversified and tremendous vitality of agriculture and Ag business in Renville County," said Joel Mathiowetz, President.

 

The tour is expected back at Max's Grill about 9 p.m. 
Cost is $20 per person.
